Biofungitek is applying advanced technologies to understand the molecular changes taking place in plant and fungal cells at the early stages of infection.

Our approach is to screen for
plant and fungal molecular targets which will respond to the action of exogenously added natural compounds, often those produced by plants and fungi themselves, so that the path of plant infection is successfully averted. The participation of beneficial organisms, such as endophytic fungi and bacteria is also at the core of our infection/evading strategy.

For this, Biofungitek conducts in-house investigations in partnership with external specialist laboratories and expert advisers in a wide range of fields from molecular biologists to field plant pathologists. In this way, the company acts as a catalyst supporting basic research and helping to channel original scientific initiatives into innovative and value-added products.

Product Types

Fungicides  |  The fungicides that Biofungitek is developing are directed at processes that are most specific to the target pathogen, therefore inflicting minimal impact on other fungal organisms in the ecosystem, let alone plants or animals. Moreover, we focus on rapidly biodegradable  active substances. Our challenge is to achieve the minimal possible environmental impact. 

Plant defense inducers  |  We are currently developing a range of multi-target Systemic Acquired Resistence (SAR) products for high value crops, which would result in protection and minimal impact on the environment.
